The Austin TARA (Texas Adventure Riders Association) Chapter sponsors a monthly dual sport adventure ride the first Saturday of every month. All riders are invited to attend.
We meet at 8:30 am in the Planet Fitness parking lot, 7100 W. US Hwy 290 Service Rd, Austin, 78736. Stands up at 9 am. Please have a full tank of gas when you show up.
There is a Jim’s restaurant next door – come early if you want to eat before we leave.
Every month we ride a different route, to keep things interesting. The planned routes include both paved and off-pavement riding and are suitable for any street-legal dual sport adventure bike. You can download the route gps files here. This month’s ride is taking us on the hilly backroads around Spicewood, TX.
There is no designated ride leader for the monthly ride (i.e. no one is in charge). Riders self-organize into small groups and then enjoy a fun day in the Texas hill country.
For more information, to ask questions, or discuss the ride, please post on the thread on Two Wheeled Texans here.
The Austin chapter of the Texas Adventure Riders Association meets the first Thursday of the month at Twin Peaks restaurant, 701 E. Stassney Lane, Austin 78745 from 6 – 8 pm.
All riders are welcome and encouraged to join us.
Ride your motorcycle if you want. Drive your car if that works better for you.
The main point is for us to get together, make new friends, visit with old friends, and talk about dual sport adventure motorcycling.
We are a friendly bunch and all are welcome to join us.
There is no cost to attend, other than what you spend on eating and drinking.
Feel free to come early or stay late.
The next event in the adventure breakfast and ride series begins on Saturday, Aug 19th, 9 am at the Lost Maples Café in Utopia. There is no cost to attend and all riders are welcome.
The Adventure Breakfasts & Rides are all about fun, camaraderie and being safe. Some groups will focus on completing the route, others will just relax and ride to their cut off time and head home.
The route is a no-host self-guided GPS ride. If you want to ride with a group (highly recommended) join a group or lead one. A group size of 4 – 6 riders with about a maximum of 8 is optimal, grouping by bike size or desired pace is also beneficial if possible.
Rain date information will be posted on the Thursday before the ride if necessary.
More information and the weather decision will be posted to this thread on Two Wheeled Texans.
