Welcome to Summer! It finally arrived here in DFW. The first Tuesday in July falls on the 4th. I know lots of folks like to spend the day with the family so we will not have a meeting in July.
Chris has his monthly ADV ride planned for Saturday July 15. The ride will begin in Bonham…at the McDonalds. It is planned to be approximately 145 miles, with a few water crossings. As always…big bike friendly, with small bike speeds. Make it if you can…his rides are always worth it! Click here for more information.
I will be taking a group up to Colorado at the end of the month (7/28). We will be in the Silverton area for 3 days, and then the Gunnison area for 3 days. We are locked into our lodging & have had a few riders cancel out, so there may be room for a few more. Estimated cost for lodging for the entire week is $500. If you are interested…send me a private note and I will get all the info to you. Any size bikes are welcome…big, small, even road bikes!
I will send out the lastest rider contact list to the email group. If you want to be included on the email list & the rider contact list…drop me a private note with your name, email, cell, hometown, & type bike(s). I will add you.
The Austin chapter of the Texas Adventure Riders Association meets the first Thursday of the month at Twin Peaks restaurant, 701 E. Stassney Lane, Austin 78745 from 6 – 8 pm.
All riders are welcome and encouraged to join us.
Ride your motorcycle if you want. Drive your car if that works better for you.
The main point is for us to get together, make new friends, visit with old friends, and talk about dual sport adventure motorcycling.
We will meet in the parking lot of Twin Peaks on Stassney Lane in south Austin and then move to the outdoor patio to tell war stories and enjoy a meal. We are a friendly bunch and all are welcome to join us.
There is no cost to attend, other than what you spend on eating and drinking.
Feel free to come early or stay late.
The next monthly dual sport adventure ride sponsored by the Austin Chapter occurs on Saturday, July 1st.
We meet at 8:30 am in the Planet Fitness parking lot, 7100 W. US Hwy 290 Service Rd, Austin, 78736. Stands up at 9 am. Please have a full tank of gas when you show up.
There is a Jim’s restaurant next door – come early if you want to eat before we leave.
Every month we ride a different route, to keep things interesting. The planned routes include both paved and off-pavement riding and are suitable for any street-legal dual sport adventure bike. Go here for more information and a link to download the route gps files.
There is no designated ride leader for the monthly ride (i.e. no one is in charge). Riders self-organize into small groups and then enjoy a fun day in the Texas hill country.
